Company
EDICAS is an industrial company that produces sausage casings
made from artificial edible collagen. Its products, the results
of many years of research and development, are marketed on five
continents with great success. From the very beginning EDICAS has
had the same philosophy – to create products of the highest
quality that are tailor-made for the needs of sausage manufacturers.
History
In 1997, with almost 50 years’ experience of the manufacture
of sausage casings made from collagen, the Fibran Group decided
to increase its commitment to the market for edible collagen. A
subsidiary company, Edible Casings, S.L., EDICAS (formerly known
as Edicsa), was established only a few kilometres from Fibran in
the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees. Since then Edicas has dedicated
itself to successfully developing a type of edible collagen that
is very much appreciated in the various markets in which it has
been launched.
Today, after years of continuous research, Edicas produces a range
of articles that covers most of the requirements of products that
use this type of edible casing, mainly uncooked sausage and German-style
smoked sausage.
