In 1953 an industry was set up to manufacture Artificial Collagen
Casings in the heart of the Catalan Pyrinees called FIBRAN S.A. Two
years later the FIBRAN CASING was launched in Spain, despite the
difficulties of a market accustomed for many years, using only natural
casings.
During the following years, FIBRAN S.A. worked tiresly to develop
sophisticated methods and systems of manufacture, with a highly professional
team and the very best materials, and launched in 1961 a special casing
for cured meats which revolutionised the cured meat sector.
